*FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN BRISBANE ...."Funana" Dance class by Rio, starts at 7.30pm...followed by a Zouk class by Darren till 8:30pm.

Then at 9pm .....

3 styles of freestyle - Salsa, Zouk and/or Bachata

4 Divisions - Amateur 1, Amateur 2, Pro-Am1 and Pro-Am 2

Registrations $10 per person per style - get in before the last minute rush

Don't miss the opportunity to compete - no choreo required ... it is freestyle !!!

Just like social dancing, only you have an audience and great prizes :)

There are 2 divisions - Amateur and Pro-Am. Both divisions have 2 sub-divisions. Remember, no paid instructors or professional dancers please, as it is an amateur competition

Amateur1 division - Novice dancers who have less than 2 years dance experience. If one of the couples has more experience, they will both need to compete in the next level

Amateur2 division - Dancers who have 2+ years of dance experience and who have never competed before. If one of the couples has more experience, they will both need to compete in the next level

Pro-Am1 division - More experienced dancers who have previous competition or performance experience who have never instructed before. If one of the couples has taught before, they will both need to compete in the next level

***** Pro-Am2 division - More experienced dancers who have been paid to teach before, but who are not currently being paid for it. Heads of schools not included

Check out the rules and regulations and get your registration in as soon as possible !!!

Couples only (partners) - no solo and no teams -
Any age, any shoe size :) -
Any nationality -
Costumes are welcome (counts towards 10% of the marks) -
Props are allowed -
If anyone wants to include lifts or tricks, a maximum of 3 lifts and 3 tricks are allowed. These are defined as moves that cannot be done without the assistance of their partner -
Salsa competitors must stick to the chosen rhythm - eg. On1 or On2 -
Timing counts for 50% of the marks. Keep to the chosen style and stay on time -
10% for Technique -
10% for Difficulty -
10% for Choreography/Musicality -
10 % for Appearance/Showmanship -
10 % for Connection/Partnering skills -
